Co-executive and Artistic Director
TCM is looking for a dynamic, visionary individual to fill the position of Co-executive and Artistic Director, under the supervision of the Board of Directors. As Artistic Director, they will be responsible for the artistic development of TCM, the supervision and quality of productions, as well as season planning, while ensuring that the company's artistic and cultural mission is preserved and enriched. As Co-Executive Director, and in close collaboration with the Administrative Director, they will play an active role in the overall management of the organisation, fundraising, strategic planning, and public and inter-institutional relations.
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:
Artistic development
- Design and supervise the annual artistic programme, including the choice of plays, tours and special projects within the established budget.
- Supervising and supporting artists and production teams.
- Develop new local, national and international artistic collaborations.
- Welcoming emerging artistic talent and establishing strategic partnerships with cultural establishments.
Production supervision
- Selecting and supervising directors, set designers, performers, stage managers and other members of the artistic teams.
- Signing off on the direction of at least one major production per season or another artistic task of equivalent importance.
- Working with the administrative department to ensure that productions stay within budget.
Season planning and innovation
- Being open to new forms of theatrical expression and innovative technologies.
- Coordinating the organisation of special events and cultural outreach activities.
- Oversee the development of advertising strategies and communications surrounding the season.
Public and inter-institutional relations
- Representing TCM in dealings with government bodies, the media and arts organisations.
- Write and submit grant applications in collaboration with the administrative director.
- Maintain relations with stakeholders in the cultural community and patrons of the arts to support TCM's mission.
General management and co-direction
- Working closely with the administrative department to ensure effective management of TCM's human, financial and material resources.
- Contribute to the development of new sources of funding, including fundraising, sponsorship, hall rentals and other strategic initiatives.
- Contribute to strategic planning by aligning artistic and administrative priorities to ensure TCM's sustainability and influence.
- Reporting to the Board of Directors on activities, performance and strategic issues, while acting as a key partner in decision-making.

- In-depth knowledge of Francophone minority issues and Indigenous and Métis realities, with sensitivity to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.

- Mastery of digital tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, project management software, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills, with a perfect command of spoken and written French and English.
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends, as well as occasional travel within Canada and possibly internationally.
