SYNOPSIS
While the whole world is hit by severe weather, Scott, an employee of the International Digital Society is in charge of finalizing a computer program to clean up the Internet. But security restrictions force him to collaborate with Koumba, a housekeeper, and Hervé, a businessman. Will they find a way to work together?
So many dilemmas in Empreinte(s), a collaborative project bringing together three countries, three cultures, three visions: Canada, Guinea and France. Franco-Manitoban artist Daniel Péloquin-Hopfner, Aminata Touré and Henri Thomas come to question Manitoban audiences after their performances in West Africa, to give a show with both modern and philosophical dimensions.
What legacy will we leave to future generations? Can digital technology still be considered ethical? These questions are central to the play Empreinte(s), performed at TCM from March 10 to 25, 2023. We caught up with the two directors, Geneviève Pelletier and Karim Troussi, to talk about the play and debate these issues.
