At his workplace, 55-year-old Ray is shocked to be visited by a young woman, 27-year-old Una. 15 years earlier, when Una was only 12, the two had a sexual affair, for which Ray was arrested and imprisoned. He has managed to establish a reasonably successful new life under another name, but Una recognized him in a photograph and tracked him down. Why has she come? A quest for love? Or a compelling desire for revenge?

Based on the novel “They shoot horses, don’t they” by Horace McCoy.

Every Wednesday, Pierre Brochant attends a weekly dinner, where guests, who are prominent businessmen, must bring along an “idiot” whom the other guests can ridicule. The contest is simple: the guest whose “idiot” is deemed most pathetic wins. Brochant is sure to have found the ultimate “idiot” in François Pignon, whose passion is building replicas of landmarks with matchsticks.  Who will have the most fun watching this dinner unfold? The audience, of course…

Éric and Chuck are the best of friends, inseparable, spending all their free time hanging out together. Enter Hélène, a new student, who soon becomes Éric’s girfriend. Feeling ignored and hurt, Chuck does everything in his power to separate them, including sabotaging their growing affection for one another. Chuck becomes a crafty manipulator, but is he the only one playing this game?


Hypocrite will be playing in Manitoban schools from April 16th to the 27th, with a special presentation for the general public on Sunday, April 22nd at 2 pm.
